The Visual Arts Program is a youth-driving after school class designed to teach participants basic art and street design concepts such as line, shape, color, texture and composition.

"The Visual Arts program changed my life. Looking for a place to go after school I came across this program, I had no idea it would feel so welcoming. I’ve learned to open up to my peers, explore my creativity and be open minded, but most importantly I learned that when a group of people come together to make ART, it creates great memories! The Visual Arts team has transformed me into a better person and artist; I couldn't be any more grateful." - Vianey Moreno

The Visual Arts class meets twice a week at the art studio where youth paint, critique and discuss issues in their community. The class is led by experience community artists that instill a sense of motivation and ambition. Youth are engaging in learning technical skills as well as listening to guest speakers that are invited to share their experiences as an artist. Youth learn all forms of artistic expression and use art as a tool for community development, social change and individual growth. Every semester youth have a chance to participate in an art show or help develop a mural in their community.
